Walking in, through, and around Sheki, it is apparent this is one of the more scenic and therefore tourist friendly places we have been. We are ringed on three sides by beautiful mountains...some snow capped. Most people here are very friendly, willing to greet us as we walk past and help when they can. We enjoyed seeing more of the town, with its silk factory, winding cobblestone streets, rolling hills, stone structures, very active market, and old walled city half way up one of the mountains. In the walled city there is a Khan's palace with other buildings and such. The day went quickly as we took in the sights and enjoyed some time in the market. A man gave us a couple of pomegranates and some leechee. Bread, apples, and clementines are our staples, so we were able to find those items fairly cheaply also. In the evening we went to a shop to buy some doner (there are two dots over the 'o'). It is sort of a shaved meat sandwich/pita filled with goodness. As we were waiting we noticed the man was watching TV between customers. Nothing too exciting about that. The more interesting part of the whole thing was how he powered the TV. He had the unit hooked up to a "Jumbo" brand car battery with some ratty wires wrapped around the terminals and stuck into a hole in the back of the set. Whatever works.
